This Too Shall Pass

£1,700.00Price
  • This Too Shall Pass sits somewhere between rain on a window and a distant coastal horizon. Inspired by the colours of the South Shields, the piece moves through muted greens, soft greys, and a lift of blue at the top — that small, familiar glimpse of clearer weather.

It’s a work exploring transience: how storms move, how light returns in its own time, how nothing — not the heaviness, not the overwhelm, not the good moments either — ever stays fixed. The title is a phrase I say to myself often, especially on the harder days living with ME. A reminder that every feeling, every season, every state of the body is temporary.

Part of the Conversations with Nature series.

A Peek Into The Artistic Process

By layering pigmented alcohol inks and applying experimental techniques, Fran creates a sense of flow and depth in her work. The symbiotic collaboration with the inks yields surprising outcomes—making each piece completely one-of-a-kind.

Art For Change

Water features heavily in Fran’s work—its fluidity, movement, and unpredictability mirror the way alcohol inks flow across the surface, creating pieces that feel organic and alive. Just as Fran collaborates with the inks, we must collaborate with nature, protecting the waters that sustain us.

That’s why Fran is committed to donating 2% of every original painting sale to The Ocean Cleanup, a charity working to remove plastic from our rivers and oceans. Keeping them clean isn’t just about the environment—it’s about preserving the beauty, serenity, and life force that water brings to all life on Earth.
