The Aftermath
The Aftermath speaks to rain washing ashes into the soil to provide much needed nourishment to the soil after a fire. The scorched Earth gladly receives this life giving force. I wanted to capture the duality of this natural phenomenon—both the destruction and the regeneration. In this piece, the forms evoke a bellowing smoke filled landscape under a sky alive with smokey colours.
